Speech and Language Services
Speech and language services are for those individuals who have speech and/or language disorders. A speech disorder refers to a problem with the actual production of sounds, whereas a language disorder refers to a difficulty understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas. Therapy involves a speech-language pathologist working with an individual on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to overcome difficulties involved with a specific disorder. S.E.E.D.S. provides therapy for individuals with most speech and language disroders. We work with children as young as 18 months as well as adults.
PROMPT Therapy (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) is therapy that uses a series of tactile cues that are designed to stimulate speech production. It is a very individualized therapy aimed at developing the most normal and flexible motor control, cognitive skills, and social interactions that produce the most functional results in the fastest way.
